| MAZATLAN MEXICO There are two major surf spots in Mazatlan. Both have short runs into rock strewn waters. From the bicycle it seems that surfers have a common heritage. This is the northen break next to a Dicso that plays music until 6:00 AM, for a drinking crowd that certainly skirts the 18 year old age requirement. |
Everyone in Mexico seems to like flowers and color, as noted by these healthy flowers in El Centro, the oldest part of
Mazatlan, and certainly the most colorful in many respects. The people here were friendly but spoke very little
English, German, or Russian.

Halloween has been adopted by Mexico. Below are some of the local children in El Centro on Halloween. I have
never seen so many children celebrating Halloween. In the two hours I was observing the street the line for candy
was rarely less than two children deep at a local shop. I compliment the owner of the shop for his patience and love
of children, many of whom could not afford a costume.
